The CWC Board of Stewards oversees all administrative aspects of the conference and the larger issues associated with it such as finances, communication with Goddard, and the Clockhouse Press. This past year, the Board of Stewarts made a number of decisions, including:
• CWC By-Laws: The establishing of official by-laws for the conference which will help the Stewards govern the conference.
• The Haybarn Writers’ Conference: The creation of a writers’ conference which will be open to the public.
• Conference Planning Committee: Added the following roles – Special Events, Transportation, Fellowship, Service Project, and Historian.
• CWC Fellowship Funds: Creation of a system for soliciting contributions, determining eligibility for and offering fellowships to CWC attendees to help defray cost of the conference for those who are financially challenged in the current year.
• Growth and Space Issue: As CWC will continue to grow while overlapping with the MFA summer residency, we will be limited in our space in the dorms and meeting rooms. To alleviate this, the Board has decided to limit the number of available single rooms (assigned on a first come/first serve basis at the time of registration) and to encourage sharing space, and begin to plan for the next three to five years to effectively manage CWC growth.
